After-the-date text generator
Tell it how the date went and when you’re sending. You’ll get lines that sound like a person, not a script.
I owe you a rematch at that arcade. Thursday?
Still laughing about the waiter and the candle. Thanks for a great night.
Morning! I had a really good time yesterday. Want to do it again?
Home safe? I had a really good time tonight.
Text the same night or the next day. Waiting days to look cool mostly looks uninterested. If you want a second date, ask for one with a day in mind.

When should you text after a first date?
The same night or the next day. A short text that evening is warm and normal; waiting three days to look relaxed mostly looks uninterested. If you want a second date, say so in the first message or the next one.
You’re likely to underestimate how well it went. After a first conversation, people systematically think the other person liked them less than they actually did. That doubt is the main reason men wait too long.

What should the first text say?
Thank her, mention one specific moment, and, if you want to see her again, suggest it. Generic texts like “had fun!” are fine; a detail from the night shows you were paying attention.
Don’t talk yourself out of the warm version. In experiments, people who gave compliments underestimated how good the other person would feel and overestimated how awkward it would be.
How do you ask for a second date?
Name a day and an idea: “You free Saturday? I know a place with even better dumplings.” One clear ask is enough. If she offers another time, take it; if she’s vague, let her come back to you.
Between the first date and the second, keep texting light. A few friendly messages are plenty. Trying to build the whole connection by text before you meet again tends to flatten it; the second date is where it grows.

What if you're not feeling it?
Tell her kindly in one line rather than going quiet. Ghosting is common enough that researchers study who does it: people who believe relationships are simply meant to be or not are more likely to see ghosting as acceptable. A short, clear message is better manners and takes ten seconds.
Planning the next one? The second date generator has ideas, and Should I text her? helps if the chat goes quiet. The Situation Finder has the first move after a date, and the texting guides cover the rest.
Questions men ask
Should I text her the same night after a first date?
Yes, if it went well. A short “home safe? I had a great time” that evening is warm, not needy. The next morning is fine too.
Who should text first after a first date?
Whoever wants a second date. If that’s you, don’t wait for her to go first; a short, specific text settles it.
She replied but didn’t mention a second date. What now?
Ask once, with a day in mind. If she says yes or offers another time, great. If she’s vague, leave it with her.
Is it rude not to text after a date you didn’t enjoy?
If she texts you, reply. A one-line “thanks, but I didn’t feel a romantic connection” is kinder than silence and takes ten seconds.
