How does the Hinge profile review work?

Paste your three prompt answers or your bio and it checks ten things that decide whether a woman replies: specific details, clichés, negativity, a hook to reply to, a hint of a date, clear intent, self-put-downs, sexual content and length. You get a score out of 100 and the fix for every miss.

Effort on your profile pays off more for men. In a study of Tinder behavior, women gathered matches quickly while men gathered them slowly, and a little effort grooming a profile went a long way, especially for male users.

What do the checks look for?

Specifics and openness count most. A profile full of real things (a dish, a trail, a band) is easy to reply to. One full of clichés or rules gives her nothing, or a reason to pass.

The checks reward believable over impressive. In an experiment with 316 online daters, idealized profiles were rated less socially attractive, and verifiable details increased trust.

What if your score is high but matches are low?

Look at your photos first, then at who you’re liking. First impressions from a face form fast: judgments after a tenth of a second matched judgments made with no time limit. Lead with a clear, smiling photo in good light, then a full-body shot and one of you doing something you love. Skip sunglasses, group shots as the first photo, and anything more than a few years old.

How do you fix a low score?

Work through the crosses, heaviest first. Clichés, negativity and missing specifics cost the most points, and each takes a minute to fix: swap a cliché for the real example behind it, turn a rule into a wish, and add one concrete detail to every answer. Then check again.

For fresh material, use the Hinge prompt answer generator, the Hinge prompt picker or the dating profile examples. The Situation Finder helps when matches don’t turn into conversations.

Questions men ask

Does this tool store my profile?

No. The check runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to us or saved.

Can it rate my photos?

No. It reads text only. For photos, the basics matter most: a clear, smiling face first, a full-body shot, and one of you doing something you actually do.

Does it work for Tinder and Bumble bios too?

Yes. Paste any bio. The checks for specifics, clichés, negativity and a reply hook apply on every app.

My score is high but I still get few matches. Why?

Usually photos, sometimes who you’re liking. People tend to aim for matches more desirable than themselves, and response rates fall as the gap grows.
