Step 1
How many messages in a row have you sent without a reply?
Is double texting bad? Usually not, once. Tell the tool what you sent and when, and get a straight yes or no plus a message that’s easy for her to answer.

Is double texting bad?
No, not once. One light double text after a day or more of silence is normal and often welcome. It turns bad when it becomes a run of messages, when it asks for reassurance, or when it repeats a question she has already left unanswered.
The reason is simple: more messages don’t create more closeness. In a study of 276 people aged 18 to 25 in committed relationships, men who texted more often reported lower satisfaction and stability. Volume reads as anxiety. One good message reads as confidence.

How long should you wait before double texting?
About a day if the chat simply faded, and one to three days if she hasn’t answered a question or an invitation. Under a day, silence almost always means a busy life, not a decision.
If your texts keep stalling after two or three exchanges, the problem may be the medium. In experiments, conversations with a voice built stronger bonds than text with no extra awkwardness. Sometimes the best double text is “Easier to explain by phone. Free tonight?”
What should a double text say?
Something new and easy to answer, never a reference to the silence. A follow-up that points at the gap asks her to explain herself; a fresh message just invites her back in.

Hello??
Walked past that taco place you swore by. Verdict: you were right.
Did I say something wrong?
How did the big presentation go?
Guess you’re busy then.
Thursday or Sunday any better for that drink?
When should you stop?
After two unanswered messages in a row. At that point the next move is hers, and a third message rarely gets a reply. Her silence often says more about how she ends things than about your text: people who believe relationships are simply “meant to be” or not are more accepting of ghosting as a way out.

Questions men ask
How long is too long for her to reply?
There’s no fixed number. A few hours is ordinary; a day is common for busy people. What matters is the trend: replies getting shorter and slower over a week say more than one long gap.
She read my message and didn’t reply. Should I double text?
Give it a day or two. Read receipts show she saw it, not that she decided anything. If you then send one fresh, light message and that gets no reply either, she has answered.
Is it OK to send a question mark or “hello?”
No. A “??” turns her silence into your crisis and pressures her to explain herself. A new, easy message works far better.
She replied with one word. Does that count as a reply?
It counts, but read it as low energy. Answer lightly once. If her replies stay short for a week, stop adding messages and make one clear plan instead.
