Hinge opener generator
Pick what you’re replying to. You’ll get comments that pick up her actual words, which is what Hinge is built for.
Portugal twice in one year? You have to tell me which city won.
You can’t mention a night train in Vietnam and not explain.
“Best travel story” and you just leave it at the airport? I need the ending.
I’m going to Japan in the spring. What’s the one thing I shouldn’t miss?
Always swap in her real details: the city, the dish, the dog. A comment that could be sent to anyone reads like it was. One question, then let her answer.

What's the best way to open on Hinge?
Reply to something she wrote and ask one easy question about it. Hinge is built for this: you can comment on a specific prompt or photo. “Portugal twice in one year? Which city won?” shows you read her answer and gives her an easy reply.
Ask, then follow up. In speed-dating data, people who asked more questions, especially follow-ups, were liked more and got more second dates. Your opener is the first question; the second one matters just as much.

Which part of her profile should you reply to?
The most specific thing you can find. A prompt with a story, a hot take or a guessing game is ideal. A photo works when it shows a place, a pet or something she’s doing. If her profile is thin, a playful guess about her (“secret karaoke champion?”) gives her something to correct, which is a reply.
Avoid compliments on her looks as the opener. They’re what she gets most, and they don’t give her anything to say back. A plain question about her actual answer is the stronger move, and plain beats clever: in field experiments, cute or flippant opening lines drew more negative reactions than direct ones.
Why do some openers get ignored?
Often it isn’t the opener. Women get far more messages than men: in a Pew survey, 54% of women who dated online recently felt overwhelmed by the number of messages, while 64% of men felt insecure about how few they got. A specific comment is how you stand out in her pile.

What comes after the opener?
Answer what she says, share a little of your own, and after a few good exchanges suggest meeting. How to ask her out over text has the words. If you’re not getting matches at all, start with the match diagnosis. Still writing your own profile? The Hinge prompt picker helps. Using Tinder too? The Tinder opener generator works from her photos and bio, and Hinge vs Bumble compares the apps.
Questions men ask
Should I comment when I like someone on Hinge?
Yes. A like with a comment about her prompt or photo stands out from a plain like, because it shows you read her profile.
What’s a good first message on Hinge after matching?
Pick up where your comment left off, or ask about another detail in her profile. One question, specific to her, is enough.
Should I compliment her looks in my opener?
Usually not as the opener. A comment about what she wrote or something in her photos shows more interest than a comment on her appearance.
How long should a Hinge comment be?
One or two lines. Long comments feel heavy before you’ve even matched.
